| Code of conduct in strings
In clear defiance of the model election code of conduct, hoardings, banners and buntings of almost all the political parties put up a few weeks ago still can be seen at several public places in different parts of the city. While the mode code of the conduct had come into force with the declaration of election schedule on December 29, the District Returning Officer and his staff failed to make arrangements to remove them even after a week. No political party lags in violation of the model code of conduct as hoardings, banners and buntings of almost all parties deface public places, including the stretch between Paragpur and Bhagat Singh Colony chowk, on the National Highway No 1 that falls in the city. However, the main political parties of Punjab including the Congress, Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) and Bharatiya Janata Party are ahead of others in this shameful deed.

1998 Chevrolet Tahoe Lt 4dr 4x4 from North America - Comments
More recently the intake manifold gasket has started to leak. This vintage is notorious for it from the research I have done... especially between 60 and 80 thousand. Factory oil cooler lines leak considerably. Always have, but have gotten worse recently. Front differential passenger side output seal is leaking - always has. $5 seal and a $200 axle, not to mention the time to replace... gear lube is pretty cheap in comparison. Two exhaust manifold "donuts"...Cheap parts, but annoying recurring problem. Belt tensioner is going as are bearings in the idler pulley and alternator. Idle has gotten rough, even after full tune up. Transmission is acting up, even having done recommended fluid changes. A rebuild may be in its future.
Security agency linked to rights man's death
A FORMER senior executive of Indonesia's flagship airline has implicated the powerful state intelligence agency in the 2004 murder of the country's most prominent rights activist. Munir Said Thalib was poisoned on a flight from Jakarta to Amsterdam in September 2004. He had made many enemies during and after the rule of dictator Suharto, which ended in 1998. An off-duty pilot with Garuda Indonesia, Pollycarpus Budhiari Priyanto, was sentenced to 14 years for slipping arsenic into Mr Munir's food or drink during the fateful flight, but his conviction was quashed by the Supreme Court last year. The case was reopened after Indonesia's Attorney General's Office recently submitted a request for a review. Former Garuda director Indra Setiawan, who is in custody and expected to be charged as an accessory to murder, told a Jakarta court yesterday that the intelligence agency had asked him to assign Pollycarpus to Mr Munir's flight.
Marker placed near Kelso to honor pilots in '47 crash
Sixty years to the day after his great-uncle plummeted into the Rose Valley woods in a doomed B25 bomber, Barry Fisher discovered what may be a piece of the plane."Unbelievable. What are the odds?" Fisher said, pulling the long, flattened steel tube out of the mud and rinsing it in Goble Creek. "It looks like a piece of exhaust."Nearby on the creek bank, a large, heavy piece of metal was buried deep in mud."That almost looks like landing gear," said James Greear, who in March discovered the crash site about 100 yards north of his house after looking for it for 10 years. "This is like finding buried treasure." .
